They should also have a strong vision for the future of their nation that benefits all citizens. Leaders should possess the ability and willingness to work with different people to help coordinate the congress, courage to accomplish tasks despite opposition and manage a crisis. All presidents throughout have both high and low moments. According to research that ranks presidents according to their qualities, Abraham Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt, Franklin D. Roosevelt, and Gorge Washington occupy the top ranks.
President Abraham Lincoln’s confidence and communication skills enabled him to inspire the masses and form alliances and good relations with formerly his enemies. Lincoln demonstrated high integrity and honesty in his words and acts while in leadership. These strong principles inspired loyalty and dedication among citizens and became one of the best role models to many individuals over the years. These qualities have a great contribution to people referring to him as ‘Honest Abe’. Theodore Roosevelt is not only known to be one of the youngest people in the history of the nation to attain the presidential position, but he is also the forerunner to the progressive movement. Theodore Roosevelt was a man of action who believed in taking risks to accomplish tasks, and his communication skills and collaboration skills helped inspire people to work towards common goals. His work culminated in domestic policies to support labour unions. Theodore was a selfless and courageous man who risked his life to lead his troop during the Spanish-American war.

FDR is a president with many great traits that explain why he has been in power for more than two consecutive terms. His curiosity, self-confidence, and presentation skills make him one of the strongest leaders in the history of the nation. FDR’s thirst for knowledge and skill made him an excellent communicator who craved to learn and interact with others around him. FDR is a leader who demonstrates his courage during the World War II period. The president denies allying with his advisors and choosing to side with the Allied Forces. Roosevelt’s skills helped guide the nation through the great depression in 1930.
George Washington is one of the beloved leaders of the country that citizens still refer to as the father of the nation. Some of his popular accomplishments include serving in the French and Indian war, leading the forces to victory during the American Revolution, helping to ratify the Bill of Rights, and having the capital city named after him. George Washington’s vision for the country was to win the war and create a nation that not only cared for the needs of the citizens in it but other people in the globe. He makes sure to lead the country with integrity and by setting good examples. Washington also sets an example to others by demonstrating humility. He does not show any pride nor accept any credit for any of the accomplishments he achieves within his term of service.
Although some of the leaders are not rated as highly as others in the country, they still hold some admirable characteristics that define a good leader in society and the nation. Hamilton was a man who demonstrated the importance of working hard to achieve personal dreams. Hamilton did not also qualify to be a presidential candidate to the nation as he was initially not a United States resident. Despite his background, Hamilton is a man who demonstrates confidence and charisma and his outgoing nature through his ability to interact and form collaborations with other individuals outside his social class at the time. These interactions play a major role in helping him attain high positions in power and the ability to help influence people.
Other leaders like John Adams, the second president of the nation, is a man that demonstrates passion, passion and dedication to politics. Adam’s ability to be a great communicator is from his previous occupations and a teacher and a lawyer. This trait enables him to assemble people of the nation to work towards independence and declare war against the British government during his period of the ruling. Ronald Reagan is a leader that demonstrates the trait of charisma. Charisma in leaders develops loyalty, devotion, and dedication in subjects. Qualities like effective communication help him express his vision to lower taxes, build a strong government and national defence system, and promote personal freedom. Reagan’s honesty also inspires trust among his followers. Andrew Jackson is a leader who is not one of the nation’s favourite leaders, although he proves his worth as a decision-maker and listener. His strong will, strictness, and toughness helped overthrow the British rule to better the citizens. All leaders have their shortcomings, although there are many traits that other people can learn.
