Statistics and Department Manager

A person who has studied psychology can be a department manager. He requires the knowledge of statistics and statistical thinking to perform Statistical researches in line with the department he is handling to enable a proper analysis of past performances, predict future practices and lead organizations effectively with the relevant interpersonal skills.

The occupational outlook handbook is a career resource containing information about many occupations that provide most jobs in the U.S making it easier to compare and choose one. The departmental manager is a great job base for several organizations ranging from health to finance to sales have departments that require managers. They also have fairly high earnings. A health manager, for example, gets $100000 to 130000 annually (U.S Bureau of labor and statistics, 2021).

Statistics enable the manager to analyze the trends in the department he is in and give him a window of ideas to choose from that is socially just. Statistics also provide a framework that enables the department managers to deal with emotional responses. Statistics quantifies the relationships between customers’ needs and wants, helping one’s career. Statistics guides research so that the research is objective and true.

Social justice is the equal treatment view, it defines fairness and equity in economic, social, and political opportunities and rights. Social justice also defines the importance of the safety and security of individuals and communities. A department manager is in charge of the functioning and ensures the productivity of a company’s division. Their sole responsibility is recruiting and dismissing staff, establishing and managing a department’s budget.

Organization statistics provide a variety of past occurrences that give the departmental manager a reference point to improve his department’s productivity.  Statistical thinking is the skill of relating one’s thoughts with important statistics ideas and enables the person to make better decisions in a given situation. A departmental decision that concerns the safety and security of individuals and the community and promotes equity across many aspects is crucial in enabling social justice in the work environment. This just decision is by statistical thinking of the previously used options that seemed just. Therefore the balancing of moral values and material values brings about social justice. This balance builds from statistical thinking.
