The main challenges that affect making a risk management decision are; lack of a significant risk assessment strategy and lack of risk decision structure in an organization.
Healthcare leaders can bring a solution to risk challenges is by welcoming a pivot to the decision-making steps. A pivot describes a change in the organizational direction. In an instance that the risk management group does not have a physician in the risk management panel and the occurring risk requires the ideas of a physician, welcoming a pivot allows the panel to invite the physician to help in the decision making. Invitation of a pivot also comes with different assessment techniques, which act vital ensure adequate assessment.
Organizations must develop risk-based decision-making structures with the right people who are accountable for the impacts of the decisions. A risk-based structure is well conversant with the risk to be solved. This presents a group with the correct risk know-how and can provide a lasting solution. This Risk-based structure also provides a table for proper risk assessment. Understanding a risk translates to its significant risk assessment, thus viable decision making.
Solving a risk requires relevant strategies concerning the risk; these strategies should be objective and goal-oriented. A good goal-oriented risk strategy provides an assessment plan to generate decisions. Therefore strategizing is of great importance in risk analysis (Tang & Musa, 2011).
