Permission for Readmission
Dear (Sir/Name of Registrar),
I am writing this letter anticipating that you will consider my appeal for readmission to [college name]. My grades at the college were not impressive during the last two semesters, which led to a drop in my GPA. I was not surprised when I received my results and saw my dropped status since I was battling mental illness. The bad results were not indicative of the college standards as they show the low efforts I made on my academics. I chose this college because it provides students with crucial leadership tools for personal and professional growth, and, as such, I feel I have not lived up to the college’s expectations.
I was battling with depression and post-traumatic stress disorder during the last two semesters. I was also caring for myself during the period. I became ignorant of my studies, performing poorly in class discussions and quizzes, therefore, losing marks. I should have consulted a therapist to treat my mental illness, but instead I procrastinated on seeking treatment making the problems get the better of me as the semesters progressed. I take full responsibility of the fact that I should have sought medical attention and eventually my academics. I understand that the situation is unacceptable and the poor grades may mitigate my chances of becoming a professional in my field of studies.
I am prepared to devote all effort to attain the critical educational objectives. I have sought treatment for the mental illness and I ready to focus on my studies. I am confident that my readmission will lead to better professional achievement. Kindly allow me the opportunity to became a part of your institution. I will continue to improve my mental health to focus sharply on my studies.
I hope I will get a positive feedback concerning my readmission.
Respectfully,
