Early pregnancy.
Generally, early pregnancies are caused by insufficient information on reproductive health, inadequate access to youth tailored services, pressure from families to marry, and sexual violence. Lack of proper parental care stands vibrantly as the major reason behind all this. Viewing this from a third parties angle, we note that parents’ intervention can greatly avert early pregnancies. The love and care for their girl child will teach their children a lot about reproductive health or prevent them from early marriages (Gupta & Jain, 2008).
From a psychological perspective, lack of parental care causes vulnerability to the child, which translates from the lack of the family environment. Such children are normally emotionally unstable and frequently develop conduct disorders and low esteem. Emotional instability makes one impulsive and can easily make wrong decisions, and low self-esteem makes one susceptible to tricks leaning towards improper reproductive health. Conduct disorder brings out irresponsibility, and this could result in early pregnancy.
Initially, early pregnancy was majorly associated with the irresponsibility of the lady and was shunned upon in the community. But on tracing and relating the possible causes of the disorder, we might find that the cause of the disorder was not from irresponsibility. Still, it lied under psychological imbalances created by the physical environment. Punishment and further neglect always seemed like the post-effect of early pregnancy, but a trace of the main cause, like in this case, lack of parental care, defines the need for a new solution(Vollebergh & Overbeek, 2006).
Feminist groups have been created to help curb early marriages, but psychological factors resulting from parental care have not been looked into. Therefore, the need to teach parents how to treat their children stands as the greatest way to prevent the problem. The feminist groups should concentrate more on encouraging the care and love of these kids from their parents rather than just fighting earl marriages, for that carters for the greater good of solving both causes of this disorder.
