Interviewing a child will require a therapeutic license, diagnosis interview, psychiatric history, and most importantly, an effective treatment strategy between the clinician and the patient. However, it would be important for the clinician to ensure honesty and open communication. Besides, the interview should also provide descriptive and praise statements that help in encouraging children to continue with effective communications that offer support and, most importantly, comfort. Unlike children, communication with adults may demand specific refrainment and reinforcements, particularly from the provider (Daviss & Bond, 2016).
To ensure effectiveness in progressing with a comprehensive assessment of a child, one requirement involves determining specific conditions, either MDD or ADHD, that are more likely to be severe among involved children. However, the conditions must be selected while focusing on specific effects related to treatment on the other. If by any chance a depressive disorder at the outset proves to be severe or in cases when neither of these conditions responds effectively to mono-therapy of stimulants, it would be important to start or switch to the depression algorithm. There is also an option of adding a stimulant if there is no response to the antidepressant. Some studies show and have proved stimulant mono-therapy as one of the most effective and reasonable treatment methods for children suspected of these health issues (Daviss & Bond, 2016). The primary focus, in this case, is to understand the underlying factor influencing a child and, most importantly, specific and effective ways to ensure positive outcomes and impacts in dealing with the main issues. As a result, this progress helps in understanding different issues and possible health issues affecting a child and, most importantly, focusing on the best and reliable response to address the issue, thus helping the affected child.
