Deployment plan proposal for the Dogwood festival.
The dogwood festival is due to take place this Easter. The festival will take place on the morning of Easter Sunday on a mile long winding road planted with hundreds of dog wood trees. The city mayor is expected to grace the parade and thousands of people are expected to participate. However, some anti-religious groups have made several threats on social media to disrupt this event. We have established that the anti-religious groups are not present in this area but we are not leaving anything to chance.
Security issues
There will be thousands of people walking and driving through a winding road that has trees and this is a major security issue in light of the threats.
The festival is a religious festival which attracts hate groups also the mayor of the city will be attending and this is a major security
Mitigation
We will be deploying 30 of our officers to the parade to provide security at the event. Some of our officers will be visiting and inspecting the road where the parade will occur a day before the event. We will also be having a final meeting with the parade organizers to go over all the security details. In addition, we have done a press release informing the assuring residents that we will provide them with security. We have also prepared handouts that we will give to the participants on the day of the event.
On the day of the parade we plan on deploying 30 officers to the event, 10 of our officers will be on bikes for easy movement on the parade route. We will also have 2 officers stationed at the parade start and 2 officers stationed at the finishing point. Together with the parade organizers, we have recruited at least 30 volunteers who will help with giving out the handouts to the participants. We will place the 14 officers in strategic places along the route so that the attendees can have easy access to them.

The Dogwood festival honoring Easter is set to take place this coming Easter Sunday. The festival, which attracts thousands of people, will take place in just about four hours starting from sunrise.
The police are aware of the threats that have been made on social media in regarding this event. The department is currently investigating the source of these threats. We would like to assure all attendees that the department will deploy enough police officers to provide security and that we will be working hard to make sure that there are no incidences. We advise members of the public to be vigilant and to report any suspicious activities. Anyone who may have any information about these threats can contact the police department.
