CM460 Strong Leadership

Unit 5 Discussion CM460 Strong Leadership

Effective leadership focuses on the effective execution of visions and missions of an organization or, in some cases redefining and improving them while setting a good tone and a culture for a business. However, to be an effective leader, one must possess specific qualities and understand essential tactics to use and depend on when leading others. Some of the most important qualities in leadership include the ability to share visions, leading by example, recognizing success, motivating and inspiring other people, effective demonstration of integrity, effective communication, and most importantly, empowering other people (Nandasinghe, 2020). These qualities influence the ability of a leader to manage processes and team members effectively and in a way that helps to improve processes and ensure success.

One situation that I have been in is mainly working in a store. The store leader was effective and successful in performing leadership duties in positive ways. The store leader understood how best to influence team members within the store, influence positive performance, and most importantly, focus on different factors that will ensure the effectiveness and positive performance of team members. The leader ensured team members were satisfied as they performed their roles and responsibilities within the store. Effective communication is one of the most important qualities presented by the leader. Effective communication help in dealing not only with team members but also with customers.

One major issue with the leader was poor engagement with team members. Team engagement is important in ensuring the success of any team. As a result, I believe this is one of the things I could consider improving in consideration to the leader. The primary focus is to engage all team members in the general management and operations of the store, thus improving productivity satisfaction and, most importantly, ensuring the success of the store (Diaz et al. 2018).
