Could this problem be prevented?
This problem could have been solved. Brian would have been given additional training and remain under supervision for a more extended period of time. Also, the organization would have employed the use of contextual awareness and transparent communications. Situational awareness entails being conscious of what is occurring in the department in order to determine whether there are any problems or difficulties that may affect treatment administration. Healthcare is highly complicated and, by definition, error-prone. It is also critical to foster an environment of transparent communication among staff members, so workers feel satisfied addressing any queries or issues they might have (Joan, 2021). Every morning, executives and departmental heads would have met for a safety briefing. Interdisciplinary rounds would also have been used in the health care to share knowledge and thoughts while improving communications amongst the medical staff and clients.
Decide what you should do now.
- Calm down the anxious Brian and client.
- Describe to Brian the deficiencies that have been identified.
- Collaborate to develop an action plan.
- Offer more educational materials on the problem.
- Organize treatment actions to avoid conflict with other caregivers (Homeyer et al., 2018).
- Stress on staff collaboration in the organization as opposed to competitiveness.
Outline a plan to resocialize Brian into his new role and make him feel like a valued part of the staff.
- Create a channel for ongoing communication competence coaching (Müller et al., 2018).
- Inform the rest of the crew about how they can help him in his responsibilities.
- Create socializing and interpersonal bonding platforms for members.
- Collaborate with Brian to identify any remaining deficiencies.
- Prevent dissatisfaction by providing prompt assistance in times of need.
- Describe to Brian that adjustment requires time and emphasize the importance of patience and perseverance in self-development and training.
