The group is experiencing disagreement between the participants. The representatives of this group do not discuss pertinent data with one another, hence making choices or undertaking acts that others deem unsuitable or even destructive. As a consequence, accusations and queries about motives arise, causing discord within the team. Also, there is uncertainty in terms of means and ends in the team. A dearth of clarification about duties, techniques, and/or objectives can result in individuals making presumptions that others do not discuss or concur with, resulting in conflict.
Should you add members to the committee?
Yes, in order to collect more feedback on the subject. To be equitable and avert disputes with the three segments, the percentage of LPNs/LVNs, CNAs, and RNs should be equivalent. This can also lead to an increment in viewpoints and knowledge (Jennifer & Judith, 2018). Suggestions that are shared are more likely to be more vital concepts. The potential to discuss concepts with the group is one of the primary advantages of group tasks or team surroundings. Assuming that there are multiple perspectives to a proposal and one of the participants is unclear, which is the most effective method to move ahead. Team participants can all contribute their concepts, as well as the benefits and drawbacks of every approach. The aim of group work is that being interactive improves learning substantially. I must not only listen to other people’s points of view; but also compare, contrast, and incorporate their points of view into my own. Possibly someone else’s point of view will persuade me or expose flaws in my own suggestions. Only by adding new members to the committee will the viewpoints shift. They are partners on a proposal in which the other members are jointly attempting to establish a typical comprehension of an issue, and as a consequence of the cooperation, the group’s ultimate, collective viewpoint is more transparent, stronger, and more vibrant.
Does your group have too many task members and not team-building members?
I believe the number of task members is not too high because it is preferable to discuss the matter with the staff members engaged in order to address their issues adequately. Broad viewpoints and thoughts, when effectively channeled, have the potential to fix even the most complicated series of concerns. The percentage of the task members is well represented since they strive for comprehensive problem solving because combining diversified thoughts can result in efficacious problem solving (Dutta, 2021). Working in a group introduces individuals to novel concepts, points of view, and problem-solving techniques. This also motivates the task members to discuss their thoughts on issues, improves communication, and has the potential to stabilize more cooperation.
What should be your role in getting the group to perform its task?
I would be in charge of organizing and supervising the meeting. Delegate tasks for collecting feedback and viewpoints so that we can meet our goals. The other role is to define team objectives and assess team improvements. In order to assess team progress, it is necessary first to define what success entails. Misunderstanding can be avoided by analyzing objectives and deciding how the group will assess achievement. This also provides group members with a concise comprehension of the group’s goals and objectives (Indeed Editorial Team, 2020). Setting concise group objectives and conversing how success will be measured enables teams to collaborate. Groups have a definite perspective of the objective and can effectively achieve it in a suitable amount of time if they are definite in both the context of the group’s objectives and the assessment process (Indeed Editorial Team, 2020).
What could be some strategies you could use that would perhaps bring the group together?
- Recognize all personnel issues and offer remedies or rationalizations for why they cannot be resolved at the moment.
- Be receptive to criticism. Gather all viewpoints and extensively discuss how they will aid in the achievement of the goals.
- Then compile all potential remedies that have been agreed upon by everyone.
- Try to incorporate and contrast the solutions to reduce the number of options.
- As a leader, take the initiative and select the most acceptable alternative that is appropriate for the majority of employees and does not contradict contemporary health facility policy.
