Introduction
In this situation, the research project or dissertations aimed to explore the various impacts on the mental health of refugee children as a result of immigration. When deciding on the best research approach for this specific research, the first thing to examine is the type of investigation and the analytical strategy that the various scientists would use. This research focuses on a significant or merely broader subject. There is a considerable gap that requires to be bridged between how adolescent refugees are mistreated in the United States, which significantly impacts their mental health. The qualitative research approach is the most relevant and successful research methodology for this investigation.
Identification of the Qualitative Methodology Attributes
The qualitative research approach is one of the primary research methodologies used by many researchers or research organizations in the various studies examined. This approach is most appropriate when the research project does not need the collection and analysis of non-numerical information. When performing any research project, the best research strategy or technique, whether qualitative or quantitative, is heavily influenced by the form of the investigation and the sort of information being gathered. Since it does not engage with statistical data, the dissertations in this scenario would necessitate the use of the qualitative technique. The overarching goal of any qualitative study approach is to get a highly comprehensive comprehension of a particular subject, problem, or significance depending on firsthand experiences. This is accomplished by using a small but concentrated sampling foundation since gathering information can be time demanding. Qualitative data is focused on profundity rather than a number of discoveries. A qualitative study methodology is focused on determining the why and how of the issue under consideration, unlike quantitative.
Various strategies in the qualitative approach would be effective in addressing the research issue. Some crucial characteristics must be used when assessing how adolescent refugee are mistreated in the United States, which significantly impacts their mental health. The real-world applicability or relationship is one of the qualitative study technique features. It is critical to develop a considerably effective method depending on data gathering and evaluation when performing this research. Focus teams are one of the qualitative methodological strategies utilized to learn much regarding the gap between how adolescent refugee are mistreated in the United States, which significantly impacts their mental health. The usage of focus teams would be suitable for this project because it would strive to gather data from participants as a collective, giving them some level of credibility to open up about overall progress and improvement (Qualitative research, 2021). Interviewing is another tool; it is one of the qualitative technique parts that would allow the research teams to generate a well-defined response to the particular study queries and goals.
Ethnographic study is the most effective in-depth observation method for researching individuals in their native setting. This technique requires the investigators to comply to the grounds of the desired audience, which could vary from an institution to a metropolis or other remote locales. Spatial boundaries can make data collection problematic in this scenario. This research method seeks to understand the attitudes, challenges, motivations, and situations that arise. Researchers tend to experience the actual settings for themselves instead of relying on interviews and discussions. As it entails in-depth monitoring and information gathering on specific grounds, this kind of research methodology can span from a few months to a few decades on those grounds.
The Inadequacy of the Opposing Approach
Based on the characteristics of the investigation, the oppositional technique for this research is a quantitative research approach that will not be appropriate in addressing the research issue. The quantitative approach emphasizes mainly the numerical component of the research project; however, this will not be helpful in the current research because the primary goal is to examine the connection between immigration and its effects on refugees in the United States. When the practical and numerical aspects of this research are considered, establishing the relationship between the two key factors would be quite tricky. The quantitative approach would also be incorrect since it could deceive the investigators, and also, the users’ study information suggests that the quantitative approach is more enticing than the observational technique since it is centered on statistical data. The biasness would emerge quicker in the quantitative approach in the research in concern than it might be in the qualitative technique. As a result, the issue is inappropriate for this research subject, which is comprehensive and appears to be focused on excellence. Lastly, the inadequacy of the quantitative approach in this research issue is due to the complexity of establishing the information gathering and evaluation framework. This research was designed for the government and other partners in the linked sector. Creating an appropriate strategy for this type of study and the targeted audience would be difficult. Many organizations feel that because there are inexpensive and low-cost surveying technologies available, they can perform quantitative research on their own. This process, nevertheless, must be carried out by a qualified researcher. There are several ways for the findings to be incorrect, ranging from leading queries to sampling flaws. While hiring a competent research firm may be relatively pricey, which makes this approach to be costly compared to qualitative methodology. Obtaining a sufficiently large sample can also be time demanding and expensive (Chetty, 2020).
Conclusion
The government’s perception of the effects of immigration on refugee adolescents is of great significance since it can help the problems associated with harmful mental impacts of adolescents. In this instance, the study investigates the correlation in detail, and the qualitative approach is the most excellent appropriate strategy that would yield accurate data. Because of the complexity of this research, a qualitative method is more suited and productive. The technique would produce adequate findings, and because it does not place as much emphasis on statistics, it is free of statistical flaws. The other alternate technique employed in this research is the quantitative technique; the challenge is relevant to the research setting. The quantitative approach would also provide users with relatively deceptive data, jeopardizing the trustworthiness. This is due to the investigators’ tendency to concentrate on data while overlooking some key topics. As a result, the qualitative research technique is the best way to apply in data gathering and evaluation for the study question.
