Relative poverty in the `United States
The levels of poverty in the United States have continued to increase, especially for the people of color who are subjected to lower earnings than the white people. For income to be considered over the federal poverty threshold, the individual living wage must be higher than the poverty level. The current prevalence of poverty level for a family of four is $26,200, which triangulates to $12.60 per hour for a full-time working employee (Soergel & Clarke, 2021). In relation to the concept of the “spent game,” the minimum wage concept for the United States people remains unachievable. They cannot cope with the hiking living cost with a low living wage. They will continue to live below the poverty levels services. With these statistics, one can infer that the minimum wage should be at $15.00 for an hour (Soergel & Clarke, 2021).
As much as the United States people have embraced the concept of the American Dream, there still exists impediments that limit its achievements. These indicators have proven the invalidity of the critical concepts of the American dream; first, the most substantial criticism is that the United States does not create an enabling environment for its attainment (BARONE, 2021). Despite the dream requiring political and economic freedom, economic inequality prevails in the country. The white male predominates as landowner, limiting the realization of the dream to the majority who live in the state. These types of injustices have demoralized the efforts of the people of color and those who do not share the native nature. Not unless the impediments are addressed, none of the financial success components can succeed in such an environment.
This reveals that the level of poverty in the United States has continued to be of great concern, which mainly has been triggered as a result of discrimination with Black Americans being subjected to lower earnings. However, the government can put in place objectives and indicators to minimize current disparities, remove persistent prejudice, and achieve the humanitarian and economic freedoms of the lowest vulnerable people while remaining practical, cheap, and adaptable. This paradigm should highlight the significance of extending out to the most disadvantaged communities, including the native people. The other way to address poverty in United States is to provide stable jobs to African Americans so that they can be able to secure savings.
