Week 2 (Leadership)
Leadership plays a major role in impacting an organization’s performance, success, or failure. To be a successful leader, one must develop a style of leadership based on the personality, goals, and culture of the business. I believe I am a democratic leader. This leadership focuses on soliciting input from all team members, considering and respecting their opinions before making any final decision. As a result, this style helps in boosting group morale, engagement, and, most importantly, job satisfaction. Typically, these three factors play a critical role in improving the performance and productivity of both employees and the organizations (Yarow et al. 2019).
This style also creates an organizational culture with boundless creativity from team members due to open discussion of issues and solutions to these issues. The healthcare system is sensitive to problems. Most of these issues can be solved best through the ideas and views of different people, from which the best solutions and measures can be developed (Yarow et al. 2019). As a result, this leadership style will help to ensure effectiveness and positive outcomes in dealing with possible issues that may arise in a healthcare institution. The style promotes unity among the leader and team members. As team members feel appreciated, it will be easy to accomplish most organizational goals, thus ensuring good performance and satisfaction of patients.
