Persuasive Speech

The student I opted to evaluate delivered a speech about the risks of mobile phone use. From the start of the speech, it was clear that the presenter was suitably attired and well equipped, as they stood tall with a pile of documents to read from. They had joy on their face, which is noticeable to the crowd and indicates that they were focused and involved in the subject matter. Aside from that, the presenter had a wonderful vocal tone and communicated with the crowd through nonverbals and hand movements. The presenter insightfully proffered the subject, listing pertinent data from credible references. The significance of the potential threats and hazards related to mobile handsets and the radiation they emit and the prolonged implications such as neurological disorders and cancer were emphasized. The speech’s convincing assertion centered around one simplified modification an individual could generate to render mobile phone utilization healthier for the person, offering the speech a much more oriented framework. The issue with mobile phone radiation is not what percentage is distributed at one moment but what percentage people are subjected to on a daily and annual basis. According to reliable World Health Organization publications, there is an enhanced danger of developing neurological disorders and other tissue injuries.

Following the presentation of pertinent and significant details, the presenter offered a prospective remedy to the issue at hand, declaring that the most efficient manner to decrease harm while utilizing a mobile phone is to avoid placing it directly against the head or ear. The presenter advised using the device’s headphones to avoid recurring exposure to immediate radiation in the nervous system. The presenter’s primary assertion was straightforward and precise. She spoke in a clear intonation that was simple to comprehend, and her phrasing was accurate. The outfit worn by the presenter was not disorientating, enabling the listeners to concentrate solely on them and what they were speaking.

The presenter’s background was dreary, restricting interruptions in this manner as well. Nevertheless, the presenter provided pertinent and insightful facts, so the assertion was well-structured and centered. The presenter was successful in capturing the audience’s interest. The dialect utilized was suitable, the grammar was accurate, and vibrant symbolism was utilized to assist the crowd in envisioning the primary statements the presenter was making. Documents were utilized in the presentation, but they were very constrained because the presenter most probably wanted the notations to serve as guidance rather than a continual reference. Eye contact appeared to be one of the presenter’s major objectives, as they centered their focus on the crowd by making strong eye contact. Although the outcome was efficacious, it could have been more detailed and provided a superior ultimate overview.

The conclusion focused on why the remedy should be included in individuals’ lifestyles, and the presenter explained how they utilize the remedy in their lifestyles. Logos, pathos, and ethos were all visible in the presentation, in which the presenter was able to offer rational and eligible references (logos), sentimental appeals (pathos), and asserted incidences of legitimacy from her references that offered the viewers an approachable encounter (ethos). Aside from that, the speech was exactly in the given time span. A couple of aspects where the presenter can strengthen include conversing a little slower when perusing outer references and data so that the crowd can understand and grasp what is being said. Secondly, the presenter could have provided more case analyses in which individuals have developed the problems she mentioned regarding mobile phone utilization to give her speech more sensibility.
