Nonverbal communication is essential in human information exchange. It normally conveys more definition and information than verbal communication. Physical acts, expressions, and body gestures are nonverbal forms of communication that communicate louder than utterances (Melinda, 2018). This paper will explain and evaluate a nonverbal interaction between two people that I witnessed on April 14, 2021.
Both persons were seated at the identical table, and I would tell by their proxemic distance that they were incredibly connected. I could tell that both persons are in an intimate connection by monitoring their connectedness. Throughout the nonverbal interaction, they maintained eye contact, touched each other ‘s palms, and their body language indicated that they had known each other for some time, so they appeared to be very comfy with one another. Person A appeared to be quite sociable and influential participant in the dialogue than Person B. Person A’s facial manifestations indicated that she was having a good time, and I didn’t recognize any negative manifestations. During my assessment, both persons were grinning and giggling while conversing. Person A was probably telling Person B an amusing narrative. Another thing I observed was her kinesics; she utilized a lot of hand gesticulations and sat while clutching Person B’s palm.
Person B’s first nonverbal interaction that I noticed was how concentrating he was on the discussion. He continued to pay attention to Person A while maintaining a solid gaze on her. Person B’s affective display with Person A was the subject of several of my nonverbal findings. He held her palm for nearly the entire ten minutes of my inspection, and he was also extremely affectionate with Person A. This assessment revealed that they have an extremely intimate connection and that he is also incredibly sentimental (McCornack & Ortiz, 2020). Also, I observed that Person’s B eye contact was severe as he maintained profound, solid, and persistent eye contact while paying attention to Person A.
After monitoring both people, I discovered that Person A was chattier and more influential than Person B. Person A was speaking the entire time I was watching her, and Person B was paying attention to her. Person B became engaged in the dialogue at times, and he appeared to be extremely focused while paying attention to Person A. I can contend from their nonverbal communication that they are in a good sentimental state because they were extremely affectionate with each other. This coursework assisted me in comprehending the importance of nonverbal communication, which is just as essential as conversational communication because it allows individuals to express themselves and maintain an excellent discussion.
